The Teacher Networking Center is expanding!

I am excited to announce that the Teacher Networking Center is expanding!

We just rented a spot on Eduisland 5 where we will be creating a virtual environment where we can have group meetings, presentations and trainings.

We will continue to have the main TNC building on Eduisland II with teacher tools (first floor), educational landmarks (second floor), fun freebies (second floor) and our calendar of events (entrance way).

Our new addition will be on Eduisland 5 next to the Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE). We are gearing up and hope to be offering sessions soon!

As always we are looking for ideas. Please feel free to comment on things you would like to see at the TNC.

The Tech Museum of Innovation

Today I am exploring The Tech Museum of Innovation in Second Life http://slurl.com/secondlife/The%20Tech/199/159/38

The virtual museum is a collection of exhibits created by individuals within Second Life. If you would like to help create an exhibit you can find out more at http://www.thetechvirtual.org/

There are several different floors the museum.
The lower level has tutorials on exhibt design and the upper level has interactive art exhibits.

There are regular scheduled events and you find out more by checking the calendar at http://www.thetechvirtual.org/ or reading the notecard that will be given to you when you enter The Tech Museum of Innovation.

Stop by and learn the art of the guitar by taking a musical ride, play on a trampoline, or take part in some of the other interactive activities.

The Teacher Networking Center is a place for teachers to connect and share information. It has been inactive for awhile but we are getting ready to move forward and start having sessions and tours.

The question is "What do teachers in Second Life want?" I am thinking about having a set time each week for a TNC "event". These would be tours, sessions, etc.

The focus is on K-12 teachers. Sessions will discuss things K-12 teachers can use in their rl classrooms. Topics could be classroom management, teaching strategies, ways to integrate technology, etc.

Please share your ideas on this blog. What do you want to see at the TNC? Can you host an event?
